We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate (PhD) to join our dynamic research team.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Director, Professional Standards, Research, Education and Policy. This is a Remote position. The Research Associate will plan, implement, and coordinate all aspects of institutional and applied research with a focus on immigration, professional practice, policy, and education. This role is critical to enhancing the organization’s knowledge of the industry and its impact locally, nationally, and globally, while providing expertise to guide its strategic initiatives.

  • Responsibilities
    Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
    • Supervise the operations of the unit, including developing and executing its strategy and providing leadership, mentoring, and management of the team.
    • Oversee the development, validity, and reliability of instruments (e.g., exams and assessments) to measure knowledge, skills, and competencies for educational, certification, licensing, and professional credentialing purposes.
    • Plan, implement, coordinate, and report on institutional and applied research initiatives to support strategic planning, program development, licensee services, and institutional effectiveness.
    • Conduct and contribute to research projects of varying complexity using appropriate quantitative and/or qualitative research methods.
    • Develop evaluation and performance management tools (e.g., surveys) to assess the effectiveness of the organization’s impact on applicants/licensees and the public interest.
    • Prepare periodic reports on licensee trends, operational research outputs, licensing outcomes, and their impact on immigration in Canada.
  • Requirements
    Required Education and Experience
    • University Degree (PhD) in research methods, measurement, evaluation, social sciences, education, or a related field.
    • 5 to 7 years of experience in institutional and/or applied research, applied measurement, or statistical analysis.
    • Experience contributing to all phases of research projects, from planning to knowledge dissemination.
    • Experience developing assessment frameworks, exams, and conducting psychometric analysis.
    • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
