Our client is looking to hire an experience Senior Database Developer to join their dynamic team on a hybrid work model.

Position Purpose: Responsible for developing and maintaining a relational database to support organizational operations and strategic goals.

Reporting to: Senior Leadership

Supervision: Collaboration with the Data Architect

Overview: The IT Project/Vendor Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing supplier relationship management (SRM) for technology and Information Services vendors. This position is integral to fostering, enhancing, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders, ensuring that governance and contractual activities align with the organization’s strategic goals and policies.

  • Responsibilities
    Key Responsibilities: 1. Database Development:
    • Collaborate with team members to determine requirements, design, and implement solutions within custom database applications and related software.
    • Test database updates for compatibility and troubleshoot issues.
    • Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans.
    • Create and update user documentation and provide training as needed.
    • Guide and oversee junior developers to ensure adherence to best practices and standards.
    2. Database Management:
    • Establish and monitor performance standards to ensure seamless database operations.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for technical issues, propose long-term solutions, and implement preventive measures.
    • Design procedures and guidelines to assist staff in effective database use.
    • Train junior developers to handle maintenance tasks and adopt best practices.
    3. Additional Duties:
    • Support other technical and operational needs as required.
  • Requirements
    Qualifications & Experience:
    • Post-secondary education in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
    • SQL certification and proficiency in Access.
    • 6–8 years of relevant experience, including:
    • Minimum 3 years in SQL database administration.
    • Minimum 3 years in program/system development.
    • Experience with relational database architecture, problem-solving, and debugging.
    • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and technical documentation.
    • Project management experience (2–4 years).
    • Supervisory skills and ability to mentor junior staff.
